Top Trumps - Horror Set

In 1981 and 1982, Waddington’s Top Trumps card games released a pair of Horror themed packs with artwork by Graham Humphreys, best known now as the man behind film posters for Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street. Humphreys' illustrations perfectly captured the essence of the characters, with his detailed and vivid depictions making each card an eye-catching piece of art in its own right.

His work infused the set with a sense of dread and excitement, ensuring that fans of the genre were hooked from the first glance. His style evolved to reflect the growing diversity of horror in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Humphreys’ mastery in blending grotesque detail with captivating colour palettes helped elevate the cards, turning them into collectible treasures for horror enthusiasts. We here at The Fluffenhammer have a love of such things and though the connection is extremely light, lets take a gander at the cards.
