FLUFFENHAMMER COMMUNITY - DAWFYDD’S BIG BOOK O’ WOLVES

So my copy of the Wolves army set arrived earlier and I've just had a chance to sit down and read the 'Dex. Overall I dig it. Some of the issues pointed out by folks who received review copies I think don't apply (one issue is some rules specifying **Space Wolf Character** being interpreted as meaning only the characters from this book, but no model has that as a keyword. **Space Wolf**? Yes. **Character**? Also yes. But Space Wolf **Character**? No).

What the army *will* need however is an FAQ regarding what non-SW models can lead SW-specific units and vice versa. Also whether Codex units like Terminators, Assault Terminators, Sternguard, Vanguard, and Company Vets count as Wolf Guard (as they once did). Because without that there is a *massive* hole in players being able to create their own heroes. And this is kinda on GW to fix as they are the ones who have spent the last few editions telling us to use the Codex Astartes profiles for Wolf Lords, Rune Priests, Wolf Priests & Wolf Guard Battle Leaders of all stripes. 

I'd say that the loss of the various Wolf Guard Pack Leaders stings a fair bit as well, ditto Long Fangs & Wolf Scouts (I hear rumours the Wolf Scouts *might* be back in Killteam at some point, which would make sense). Otherwise there are some...odd... decisions in regards to the options for kitting out Grey Hunters, Blood Claws & Wolf Guard Termies. At least being able to take 20-strong Packs of BC's is nice & thematic, but Gry Hunters only in 10-strong Packs? When the sprues are clearly in 5's? Real odd.

And what hurts is this is making me be negative when *so much* about the book is genuinely great - the lore is tight but hits all the right notes. The rules overall are very fluffy (😜) and evoke the feel of the Fyka Venryka, especially in the Crusade section. And of course the new minis are pretty fab. Hell, I'm already thinking of ideas for making some Packs using the current Heresy kits to go alongside my existing Wolves and the new Primaris range. Just the wealth of head options is staggering for how many choices I now have is kinda mind blowing…..
